ShipFast

Is ShipFast a zero-employee company? Structurally yes: by its founder's own account it is a one-person product with no employees. But its revenue over the last 30 days has fallen below our materiality threshold, so it is tracked on the Watchlist rather than classified ZE-Strict.

Next.js boilerplate (starter codebase with auth, payments, emails, SEO and UI components) sold as a one-time purchase to developers building SaaS and AI apps. Built by Marc Lou, who runs a portfolio of small products including TrustMRR.

Operating model

How the company operates

ShipFast is a one-time-purchase product (Starter $199, All-in $249, ShipFast + CodeFast bundle $299 as listed in Oct 2026) with lifetime updates and a Discord community. It has no subscriptions, so there is no recurring revenue.[3],[1]

ShipFast is one of many products Marc Lou runs alone. His Oct 2026 site shows a combined '$89.8k/month', with ShipFast at '$1.4k/mo', behind TrustMRR, DataFast, CodeFast and Ship or Die.[2]

Marc Lou owns and operates TrustMRR (founded Oct 2025), the Stripe-verified revenue database that lists ShipFast. TrustMRR figures for his own products are therefore not independent third-party verification.[9]

Founder responsibilities

  • Builds, markets and maintains ShipFast himself, and says on the sales page that he uses it daily for his own projects.[3],[8]
  • Splits attention across a portfolio. In Jan 2026 he said he spent 'about 200 days building features' for DataFast and was 'currently working on the marketplace' for TrustMRR.[7]

Evidence table for ShipFast
DateMetricValue / claimSourceGrade
16 Oct 2026Customers“8436 makers ship faster”

Sales-page counter; the TrustMRR listing (src-shipfast-1) shows a similar user count. The same sales page shows a perpetual-scarcity offer: '$100 off for the first 8450 customers (14 left)'.

15 Oct 2026Team size
period 2026-10
“Team size: 1 person”

Self-reported profile field on TrustMRR, not Stripe-verified. TrustMRR is owned by the same founder.

15 Oct 2026Monthly revenue
period 30 days to 2026-10-15
“ShipFast - $1,395 last 30 days”

TRAILING-30-DAY REVENUE FROM ONE-TIME SALES, NOT MRR. TrustMRR shows MRR '-' and 'No active subscriptions'. Stored under mrr only for lack of a monthly-revenue metric. Revenue is 'verified with Stripe API key', which would normally be grade B, but TrustMRR is owned and operated by ShipFast's founder, so it is treated as a self-hosted dashboard (C). Matches '$1.4k/mo' on marclou.com. A steep drop from ~$20K/month (Jan 2026), with no explanation found.

Not in dataset downloads: source terms restrict redistribution

15 Oct 2026Cumulative revenue
period cumulative from 2023 to 2026-10-15
“All-time revenue $1,272,294”

CUMULATIVE, NOT ANNUAL. Value left null because the schema has no cumulative-revenue metric. Stripe-API figure on a founder-owned platform (see obs-shipfast-mrr-1).

8 Sep 2026Employees
period 2023-11
“In November, my revenue hit $65,400/month at a 91% margin and 0 employees.”

Refers to Nov 2023 and covers all his products, not only ShipFast. The same article describes him as 'Solo'.

8 Sep 2026Monthly revenue
period 2024-04
“The videos made ShipFast hit $133,000 in monthly revenue in April 2024.”

MONTHLY REVENUE, not MRR. Stated retrospectively in Sep 2026.

8 Sep 2026Annual revenue
period 2023
“By the end of 2023, ShipFast alone made almost $200,000 in total revenue.”

Because ShipFast launched around Aug/Sep 2023, this total equals its 2023 revenue. 'Almost' means slightly below $200K.

4 Jan 2026Monthly revenue
period 2025-12
“ShipFast and CodeFast each make around $20K/month”

MONTHLY REVENUE from one-time sales, not MRR. Founder's 2025 recap; the exact month is not stated, so the period is approximate.

Open questions

What we could not verify

  • Why ShipFast's revenue fell from ~$20K/month (Jan 2026) to below our materiality threshold in the last 30 days (Oct 2026, src-shipfast-1) is unexplained. It may be demand decline, bundle sales recorded under CodeFast, or a payment-account change; none of these is confirmed.
  • No revenue verification independent of the founder exists. TrustMRR, the Stripe-verified source, is his own company.
  • Whether anyone helps with ShipFast support or community moderation (Discord) is not disclosed.
  • The legal entity and country are not stated. marclou.com shows Cyprus as his location, and TrustMRR lists CodeFast as Singapore-based.
